Stocks jump after relief on bond insurers (Reuters)

Japan's benchmark Nikkei index jumped 3 percent Monday, rising to a month-and-a-half high as players snapped up financial issues amid eased concerns about the U.S. financial sector. The Nikkei 225 index jumped 414.11 points, or 3.07 percent, to 13,914.57 points on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. It was the Nikkei's highest close since Jan. 15.
